In the heart of Veneto, Alpiq, San Marco Petroli Spa and Sinloc – Sistema Partecipative Locali Spa – have joined forces to launch a project which is ambitious and sustainable: the “H2 Lagoon” project. This initiative aims to create a system based on green hydrogen, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact in the region.
One of the focal points of this project is the development of an electrolysis plant with a capacity of 10 MW. This cutting-edge technology will enable the production of green hydrogen – an eco-friendly and innovative alternative for transport companies in the region.
Trucks powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system will become a reality, thus contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
H2 Lagoon for the decarbonization of water transport in Venice
But the “H2 Lagoon” project does not stop here. In addition to improving the land transport sector, it also aims at promoting the decarbonization of water transport in the Venice lagoon.
This initiative aims at reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 14,000 tons per year, demonstrating a strong commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
