Therefore, we set <\/span>high standards<\/b> for ourselves in the area of environmental responsibility, striving for performance that does not merely comply with regulations but in fact reduces our environmental impacts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 1962<\/i><\/b><\/h2>\n

San Marco Petroli was <\/span>founded in 1962<\/b> in the industrial area of Marghera to meet the growing demand for energy products resulting from the industrial development of the 1960\u2019s. The activities of the company were initially addressed only to the sale of diesel and fuel oil. However, over the years, the company has undergone a natural development by expanding the warehouse activity and increasing the range of products available.<\/span><\/p>\n

1999: San Marco Gas is founded<\/b><\/p>\n

San Marco Gas S.r.l.<\/b><\/a> was founded in 1999<\/b> in order to remain increasingly competitive on the market and expand its range of products. A sister company of San Marco Petroli Spa, this LPG warehouse located in Portogruaro (VE) in an area of strategic importance, stores, bottles and markets LPG. The warehouse covers an area of 60,000 square meters and was designed and built with innovative techniques to meet various operational needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

2009: OMV Italia becomes SMP<\/b><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2009, San Marco Petroli faced a new challenge by purchasing and rebranding OMV Italia\u2019s road network<\/b>. The now iconic lion was replaced in roughly 90 service stations.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Confirming once again its strong competitiveness on the market, the company becomes one of the main players in the area, able to guarantee customers a constant supply throughout the entire network.<\/span><\/p>\n

2018: SMP joins Petromar<\/b><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2018<\/b>, in order to offer its clients a service at 360\u00b0, <\/span>San Marco Petroli became part of the holding that purchased Petromar Srl<\/b> .The company was founded in 1947 by the Carnio family, who, for over 70 years has been offering naval bunkering services in the Venice port and harbor as concession holders. Owners of a fleet consisting of 14 tankers of various sizes and capacities, Petromar is able to guarantee the bunkering for fuel oil, diesel and lubricants.<\/span><\/p>\n

2023: creation of a modular ethanol mixing plant<\/b><\/p>\n

With the aim of achieving a technical solution capable of combining economic and environmental sustainability through efficient use of fuel deriving from renewable sources in gasoline additive processes, SMP, among the first\u00a0 warehouses in Italy, creates a <\/span>modular mixing plant (from 3% to 10%) of\u00a0 ethanol in gasoline<\/b>, capable of complying with the EN228 specifications in force in Italy (bioethanol max 5%) and those of foreign markets (up to 10%).<\/span><\/p>\n

2020\/2025: installation of double bottoms<\/b><\/p>\n

Particular attention is also paid to environmental protection. A program to improve the warehouse structure is currently being finalized, which involves the <\/span>installation of double bottoms on the tanks intended for petroleum storage<\/b>. As of 2024, the completion of the project exceeds 70% of the tanks equal to 87% of the overall storage capacity, with the program expected to be completed by 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

2025: renovation of loading ramps<\/b><\/p>\n

As part of the development of the plant, a <\/span>revamping and strengthening of the loading bridge is underway with the installation of 6 new multi-product ramps<\/b> which, thanks to the use of the best and most modern technologies available, will allow to double product extraction capacity with the utmost attention to safety and respect for the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
